Have to mention -- while we can look in awe at the legacy and craftsmanship and perhaps labor of love, I also wanted reflect on this representation of labor. Many African Americans made a mass exodus from the South known as the Great Migration and found the answer to their search for economic opportunities at the Charlestown Navy Yard. While there's seemingly little documentation about whether African Americans found the social climate and economic stability they sought out, it reminds me of the Chinese migration after the railroads were completed, in search of jobs while fleeing from violence. -Anita Y. -Rose P. #wtmboston and #nofilter as Samuel Whittemore doesn't need the help to look lovely. -Zachary B. #wtmboston and #nofilter as Samuel Whittemore doesn't need the help to look lovely. -Zachary B. #wtmboston and #nofilter as Samuel Whittemore doesn't need the help to look lovely. -Zachary B.
